Vitamin B12 + MIC

Vitamin B12 + MIC (Methionine, Inositol, and Choline) injections help facilitate weight loss and boost energy. The combination helps you breakdown fat and use food for energy more efficiently. They help your liver function properly and process fats, making weight loss easier.

The combination of these ingredients helps with:

  • Metabolism of fats and and removal of fat from the liver reducing fatty liver disease

  • Increase metabolic rate helping you digest and metabolize fats, proteins, and carbohydrates

  • Boost energy

  • Improve mood, thought processes, and memory

  • Provides essential components for proper neurologic and nervous system function

  • Lowers cholesterol levels

  • Helps keep skin, nails, hair, and joints healthy

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is a water soluble vitamin, meaning it dissolves in water and any excess is eliminated in the urine. We don’t produce vitamin B12 on our own which means that we must get it from our diet. Some great sources include meat, milk, cheese, eggs, fish, and others.

Many factors influence the amount of vitamin B12 we utilize every day. These include a poor diet, anemia, gastric surgeries, intestinal problems, stress, and MTHFR (the inability to methylate B12).

Vitamin B12 plays a major role in the normal function of our nervous system, our metabolism (to release energy from food), and red blood cell production. It also increases energy and metabolic rate to aid in the digestion and utilization of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Vitamin B12 has also been shown to decrease homocysteine levels, reducing our risk of cardiovascular disease and dementia.

At MTN HLTH, we only use Methylcobalamin. It is the more absorbable form of Vitamin B12 and is also able to be absorbed by those with MTHFR.

Methionine

Methionine is an essential amino acid (EAA) which means our bodies cannot synthesize it on their own. Sources of methionine come from meat, fish, and dairy products. It plays key roles in helping our liver process fats which reduces fat buildup and maintain proper functioning of the liver.

It is also required for Glutathione synthesis. Glutathione is is the most abundant natural anti-oxidant in or body. Glutathione is produced in the liver and functions to rid the body of toxins. It plays a role in creatine synthesis and proper muscle function. It also reduces the level of histamine in the body which helps with allergic and inflammatory conditions. Glutathione is also essential in the formation of collagen which is necessary to maintain healthy skin, hair, nails, connective tissue, and cartilage (joint health).

Inositol

Inositol is a nutrient that aids in the metabolism of fat, reducing cholesterol, converting food into energy, and process insulin helping us to regulate blood sugar. It is also involved in the proper function of neurons, helping our nervous system to communicate better. It participates in the action of serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter that helps control mood and appetite.

Inositol helps us regulate these hormones:

  • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone: necessary for proper metabolism of cholesterol and glucose, energy levels, insulin regulation, and all other metabolic processes in the body.

  • Follicle Stimulating Hormone: In females it is necessary for follicle development, ovulation, and release of estrogen. In males it is controls the production of testosterone and sperm.

  • Insulin: this is the primary hormone responsible for regulation of blood sugar and “building” functions in the body. It plays a key role in our energy levels.

Inositol can also be purchased from MTN HLTH’s Fullscript formulary.

Choline

Choline is made in the liver, is water soluble, and is found in foods such as meats, fish, nuts, beans, spinach, and eggs. It is required for the transport and metabolism of fat and cholesterol in the body. One of its main roles is to prevent accumulation of fat in the liver, thus decreasing risk of developing fatty liver disease (the leading cause of liver transplant in America.) Choline supplementation can help ensure your body is getting enough choline to perform optimally.
